Digital Facilities Master Plan
San Juan Unified School District – Facilities Master Plan
VM3 Consulting is proud to partner with San Juan Unified School District, alongside JKAE and AECOM, to develop the District’s Facilities Master Plan (FMP)—a comprehensive roadmap for long-term school facility planning and investment.
The FMP is more than just a document; it is a data-driven, districtwide strategy that ensures every student and staff member has access to safe, modern, and inspiring learning environments. Designed as a living plan, it evolves over time as projects are completed, new needs arise, and funding opportunities shift—keeping it responsive to the unique needs of the communities San Juan Unified serves.
Key components of the Facilities Master Plan include:
Campus-by-campus facility assessments
Cost estimates for modernization projects
Site and building layout concepts
Demographic and enrollment projections
State funding opportunities
Deferred maintenance considerations
An equitable scoring rubric to prioritize projects
Through this collaboration, VM3 Consulting brought expertise in data analysis, process improvement, and facilities planning to ensure the plan not only reflects today’s needs but also positions the District for long-term success. By combining clear priorities with flexibility for the future, the Facilities Master Plan helps San Juan Unified make wise investments that directly support student achievement and innovation.
The excellence of this work was recognized with the 2025 Leroy F. Greene Design & Planning Award, presented by the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.) and AIA California.
It all begans with an idea.
